I am a Senior Undergraduate Researcher at Augusta University majoring in Biology. Under the guidance of the Baltzegar Lab, I contribute to the development of a regional baseline for kdr presence while also mentoring and supporting incoming undergraduate researchers. Through this work, I have cultivated a strong foundation in collaborative scientific research, data interpretation, and inquiry.
My academic and research interests are centered in population genetics, vector population management strategies, and research design and classification. I am particularly drawn to interdisciplinary approaches that connect molecular data with potential public health implications, and I am passionate about contributing to research that advances both scientific understanding and practical solutions.
Beyond the laboratory, I maintain a deep appreciation for language and the arts. I am pursuing a minor in Spanish, reflecting my longstanding interest in linguistics, communication, and cross-cultural engagement. In addition, I have practiced 2-D art for over a decade, an experience that has strengthened my creativity, attention to detail, and ability to approach problems from both analytical and artistic perspectives.
With these experiences and further investigations, I aim to further my studies in Pathology and/or Infectious Disease. Through many of my life stages, I have always wanted to explore the function and modality of disease and potential combat strategies that have been or have yet to be utilized.
