Hello! My name is Aiden Srull, and I am an undergraduate student research assistant majoring in neuroscience. I am involved in investigating the genomic regions within the German cockroach (Blattella germanica) that contribute to glucose-averse behavior. Through this research, I have gotten to better understand how interdisciplinary the world of science truly is. This research combines my fascination with evolution with topics related to my major, such as gustatory receptor neurons. I have already learned a lot, and I cannot wait to learn even more!
Outside of the lab and academics, I am a big theater kid who also enjoys things like bouldering and skateboarding. These hobbies continue to help me in my day-to-day life, from being a source of pure fun to strengthening my teamwork and problem-solving skills. I am excited to continue learning, and exploring new things both inside and outside of the lab.
